The setting
Morgado lies inland at Morgado do Reguengo, rather than beside the Ria Formosa coast. Combine it with neighbouring Álamos for different rounds from the same golf base.

A June golf trip in the Algarve
We had a really good trip away, playing Morgado, Salgados and Álamos in the Albufeira area. All three courses were fun to play, notably with sandy ground and plenty of water hazards to keep things interesting. We had no complaints about the greens, which were quick and true — absolutely superb!
We went in June and found the all-inclusive hotel and local area quite busy, but the weather was fantastic — almost too hot for golf at times! A buggy is certainly recommended in those temperatures, as walking the courses can be hard work in the heat.
The hotel was fine, but the busy pool areas and the hassle of trying to get sunbeds further highlighted why we generally prefer staying in a villa with a private pool, where possible. It gives you much more freedom and flexibility to relax after a round of golf.
Overall, a really enjoyable trip away with some great golf, fantastic weather and a clearer idea of what we look for in future golf escapes.
