Why We Started 19th Hole Escapes

People ask me why I started a golf travel company.
The honest answer?
Because I got fed up with the experience of booking golf holidays myself.
Like most golfers, I'd spend weeks looking for the right destination, comparing prices and finally booking what I thought would be the perfect trip.
At first, everything was great.
Emails came back quickly.
Phone calls were answered.
Everything felt easy.
Then the money was paid.
Suddenly it felt like we were chasing people for updates. We'd be the ones sending emails, making phone calls and wondering if everything was actually sorted.
The moment that really changed everything came just three days before one of our golf holidays.
We found out the villa we'd booked hadn't actually been booked.
Three days before we were flying.
That shouldn't happen.
Thankfully it got sorted, but I came home from that trip thinking...
"I can do better than this."
That was the start of 19th Hole Escapes.
We Built the Company We'd Want to Book With
We're not trying to be the biggest golf travel company.
We just want to be the one people trust.
From your first enquiry until the day you get home, we want you to feel looked after.
No chasing emails.
No wondering what's happening.
No feeling like you've been forgotten because you've already paid.
If you've got a question, we'll answer it.
If something needs sorting, we'll sort it.
That's exactly how it should be.
We Don't Just Sell Golf Holidays
Since starting 19th Hole Escapes we've spent months building relationships with fantastic golf resorts, hotels, villa owners and golf courses across Europe.
And we're only just getting started.
We're constantly looking for new destinations, new resorts and new experiences that we'd happily recommend to our own mates.
If we wouldn't book it ourselves, we won't sell it.
Simple as that.4
Everyone's Perfect Golf Holiday Is Different
Some people want luxury.
Some want to play 36 holes a day.
Some want a villa with a pool.
Others want an all-inclusive hotel where everything is taken care of.
For me?
A perfect golf holiday is simple.
It's getting away from work.
Switching off for a few days.
Leaving the emails behind.
Having a break from the kids.
Standing on the first tee in the sunshine with your mates and not thinking about work for a week.
That's what it's all about.
Golf Is Different
I honestly believe golf is one of the best sports in the world for bringing people together.
Because of the handicap system, it doesn't matter whether you're off 1 or off 25.
You can still compete.
You can still have a laugh.
And everyone has a chance.
Some of my favourite memories haven't even been about playing well.
They're about the people.
The laughs after the round.
The arguments over who's buying the next drink.
The stories that somehow get better every year.
Those are the things you remember.
The Trips You Never Forget
Some of the best memories I've got have been on golf holidays.
Playing incredible courses at Praia D'El Rey.
Creating our own competitions with mates.
Spending far too long in the clubhouse after the golf had finished.
Even turning up to the first tee feeling a little worse for wear after a great night before...
And somehow going on to play some of the best golf of my life.
You can't plan those moments.
They're just part of a great golf trip.
And they're the stories you end up telling for years afterwards.
That's What We Want to Create
For us, this isn't about selling holidays.
It's about helping people create memories with their mates, their families or their golf society.
It's about taking away the stress of organising everything so you can simply enjoy the experience.
If, when you get home, you're already talking about where to go next year...
We've done our job.
See You at the 19th
We called the business 19th Hole Escapes because every great golf trip doesn't end on the 18th green.
It ends in the clubhouse.
That's where the stories start.
That's where the laughs happen.
And that's usually where next year's trip gets booked.
Hopefully, we'll be the company helping you get there.
